"Being out of state buyers we found Dex to be very accommodating, knowledgeable, and sincere as a realtor agent. We started with Dex the day after Thanksgiving for a tour of the area homes. "We recently purchased our new home and almost 8 acres of creek front property through RE/MAX Mtn. Properties and we wanted to take a moment to let you know how pleased we are with our realtor, Dex Hubbard. We listed our home in Florida in mid-November and had a contract on the home within 30 days with the closing scheduled on Jan. 28th, 2011. Needless to say, we decided that we would need in inquire with a realtor in NC quickly so we would have a new home as soon as possible. Our initial contact with Dex was through the internet. He responded to our inquiry within hours and phone contact was initiated so the process of determining the feasibility of building on our Yellow Creek lots or making the decision to find another home that was already build could be made. Determining that it would be best to purchase a home already built, plans were made for Susan to meet with Dex the week after Christmas to see as many listings as possible. There was 10 inches of snow on the ground and Dex made every effort to show me (Susan) all the properties that I wanted to see. As we would be living here full time, and with all the snow and ice on the roads, Dex was quickly able to help me determine that I wanted "usable land" and not a cliff hanging chalet with great views. There were about 25 listings on my list and by the 3rd day I had a list of 6 potential properties to discuss with my husband. Before heading back to Florida, We made an offer on dickey Creek Estates as I felt this property and the most "usable land" and would best meet the needs of my family. Dex diligently helped us determine a fair offer for the home and almost 8 acres of creek front land based on the current market. Our bid was accepte4d and the closing date set for shortly after the closing of our Florida home. I was able to return to Florida relieved that I had been able to find our family a new place to call home.

Dex also proved to be an invaluable resource to us when we moved to NC. He was able to answer all of our many questions or point us in the right direction for answers. We definitely did not feel like strangers in our new home town. After arriving, we asked Dex to list our Yellow Creek property. He met us at the property and his extensive knowledge of NC real estate helped us to determine a fair listing price. He also found a spring on our property and researched that we did indeed own the creek! Dex quickly had the property listed and sold...we closed on the property in under 30 days!

We love our new home and acres as "usable land". We have a swift moving creek, mountain views from our porch, and have planted our vegetable garden. We are grateful that we found the right realtor in Dex. His availability, quick responses, extensive real estate knowledge and determination to help us find a home, not just a house, has proved to be to our benefit. We have several friends that are planning to also make the move to NC and we will be referring them to Dex as we are confident he will provide them with the great service he did us.

" My wife Mary and I have been teaching overseas for the past 24 years (the last 22 in Brazil). This year we retired and had been investigating possible regions of the United States where we thought we might like to retire. "I would like to write a testimonial about how this man, whom we stumbled upon by accident went way above and beyond the boundaries of his job to get us this home. He immediately dropped everything he was doing on the day we happened into the Re/Max office. Dex happened to be "on call" and he showed us some properties we had researched on the Internet and then he took us to a home that was above our budget. Of course we fell in love with the home and made a ridiculous offer that after brief negations was accepted at a price below our budget. Dex led us to all the people we needed to get our perspective home inspected by a home inspector, a termite inspector and a septic system inspector. He provided us help in getting the electric service changed into our name, and negotiated to have some of the home repairs done by the seller (a miracle in itself).

Dex returned all my calls and answered all my emails quickly (even the ones that probably seemed silly to him - and to me after I calmed down enough to think logically). We all know the home buying process is stressful. Probably more so when it is intended to be the last home you ever buy. Dex made this process as painless as possible and we are so looking forward to our move to North Carolina early next month.

Anyway, as you can tell, Dex is our hero. He mentioned to me at one point that he hadn't had a day off in some time and I told him he needs to take time for himself and his family. He told me he (and the family of course) are going on a vacation next month and I am so glad. He deserves the rest after dealing with us. I know we aren't his only clients and that just amazes me more. How on earth does he do it? God bless him for all his hard work. Their are many people who benefit from his unselfishness.

"After purchasing a "week-end" cabin on Lake Hiawassee, we quickly decided that this area would be our destination after retirement. We casually began the search for the "perfect" place and visited many, many developments over a couple of summers. When we drove through Bear Paw Views, we knew we had hit the place. We were immediately impressed with the quality of the roads, the large lots and the gated entrance. The crepe myrtle shrubs, Bradford pears and the stone that border most of the roads is a real added touch and will just continue to enhance the development as the shrubs and trees mature. Working with Dex and his lovely wife, Ginger, made the browsing and buying experience a delight - in fact, Ginger, led us to the lot we ultimately purchased.

I'm happy to report that we have retired, our house is complete and Bear Paw Views has met and exceeded our expectations. We have some great neighbors as well as a steady stream of visitors from the Atlanta area. After one such visit, a friend from Atlanta purchased a lot just up the road from us. We get MANY compliments from envious friends and family on the location and the incredible views.

"About four years ago my husband left Florida to drive to western North Carolina to check out the possibility of purchasing an RV to keep in North Carolina for summer vacations. He decided that an RV wasn't right for us and began looking around all the different towns and properties in this area. The first one he saw in Murphy was Bear Paw Views and he "fell in love" immediately. However, I suggested we think it over and continue to look, which we did. Several months later (after several more visits to NC and looking at a number of properties) we bought our beautiful home in Bear Paw Views and absolutely love it here. We initially thought we'd only be here for a few months; however, our "love affair" with this area and Bear Paw Views has intensified to the point that we're selling our home in Florida and plan to spend almost all our time here.

The Hubbard?s have been so responsive and caring about this development and continue to enhance and improve the property. The location is convenient to town - only 15 - 20 minutes away. However, you feel like you're in a beautiful world where nature abounds with gorgeous wild flowers, deer and all kinds of birds. There are meadow/mountain views, wooded mountain views and secluded wooded glens that would make lovely home sites. It is a true "get-away" from our stressful world! Our neighbors are wonderful - lots of get-togethers and lots of laughs. When friends visit, they can't get over how beautiful it is here. Some friends just left us the other day and wrote us a note in which they said "another perfect visit with perfect friends in a perfect place with a perfect view". I think that says it all.
