Dex Hubbard BREAKS THE MOLD when it comes to real estate agents! If you are used to dealing with an agent that is working harder for themselves, then they are for you, Dex will show you what having someone on YOUR SIDE is like. We worked with Dex for over a year on a property deal that was tied up with some family issues and ended up purchasing a home instead. From our first meeting to the last, Dex provided timely communication, offered expert area knowledge, and gave sage advice on the process. He was patient, willing to send us information on a ton of properties and make himself available to show us the home we ended up purchasing several times. Dex is a consummate professional, who we enjoyed having represent us for our move to God’s country. My wife and I decided to sell our place in Murphy, North Carolina, and move back to Florida full-time. We had a one-half acre fenced lot with two metal storage buildings, a metal office building, and a carport with a washer and dryer on the end. We were advised to sell the property with the Cottage RV as part of the sale.
We contacted a woman I’d known from a car dealership who had left and gone to work for a realtor. After a couple of postponements, her realtor came out, surveyed the property, and was to give us a call in a day or two to establish an asking price, etcetera. He called back in about an hour and said it wasn’t in his normal area of expertise. I took that to be a code for there wasn’t enough money involved in it for him. Anyway, he recommended another local realtor.
I followed the recommendation and called a man named Dex Hubbard. Dex is a country boy, unpretentious and a straight shooter. We talked about the property, and he agreed to come out and take a look. He showed up as promised, looked everything over, and said that he would try to sell it for us.
Dex had a young man come out and take numerous photographs of all the buildings, cottage, and the grounds. Once the photographer got the photos loaded on the Multiple Listing Service, we were off and running.
The listing came out on Thursday, and we got a call from another realtor wanting to show the place on Saturday morning. The young lady arrived before her client and asked me several questions that she should have known. At any rate, I answered her questions, the guy showed up, looked around, toured the cottage RV, and they left.
The next week I got a call from Dex asking if I would have any interest in selling the property without the cottage RV? I had an identical cottage RV ordered to be delivered to Florida and had put a $2,000 deposit on it. I replied that if the price was right, I would entertain selling just the property, and moving the existing cottage RV to Florida.
Dex and the client arrived, and they toured the property. When they were finished, I met the client, Jeff Barfett and chatted with him. Dex had another meeting, so he had to leave. Mister Barfett and I talked for another two hours. I got an offer for more than I expected, accepted the offer, and arranged for the existing cottage RV to be towed to Florida.
Once the due-diligence period had passed, I made plans to tear out the deck, and take the lumber and synthetic decking boards to Florida. Jeff offered to help and showed up Thursday morning. We had the deck disassembled and what was usable loaded into my brother-in-law’s truck by the end of the day. I left the next morning, dropped off the lumber, spent the night, and headed back.
My wife and I prepared the cottage RV for towing. A fellow from Hiawassee, Georgia, came with his big diesel dually and a small wrecker. We loaded as many paving and standard block as he could get in his truck, used the wrecker to get the cottage off the property, hooked it to the big truck, and headed for Hiawassee to spend the night before leaving at 4 a.m. We left while he was getting unhooked from the wrecker and hooked to the truck, got our Jeep hooked behind our motorhome, and headed out. We actually followed the tow truck to Hiawassee, then had lunch with the brother-in-law in Clayton, Georgia, and continued on to Florida, spending the night in a shopping center enroute.
The tow truck arrived as scheduled. We got all the cement blocks unloaded and I started leveling the trailer. We had sold our 5th wheel trailer to friends from Tightwad, Missouri, who spend the winter in the park. We are now attempting to consolidate everything from three RVs into two. What a joy.
In closing, if anyone needs a realtor in or around Murphy, North Carolina, one cannot go wrong with Dex Hubbard. He made everything easy, took care of every detail and contingency very professionally, and made the adventure stress-free.

Can you post these on every site that you think is helpful. I can’t seem to do it. If I have to do it please call me and walk me through it. Thank you both again.
We just wanted to take a moment to express our thanks to Dexter Hubbard and Allison Amos, of Re/Max Mountain Properties, in helping us find our retirement home. Finding the right location and the home building process is not an easy one, especially coming from out of state, and your patience and guidance along the way made our experience a good one.
When we met Dex we found that he had a great relationship with everyone we met in town. That meant a lot to us. We felt we had found a person that would be a good partner with the resources and experience that we wanted.
Dex and Ali helped us find the perfect property to build our dream home in Hayesville, NC. We had interviewed several contractors but had not found the company that we were comfortable with. Dexter and Ali stepped up again to help us and recommended a couple of builders. We also appreciate their advice and guidance through the steps and preparation of purchasing and building a home in NC.

Hi Dex,
I just wanted to say "hello" and remind you of how deeply I appreciate all your help in the sale of my home back in October or 2019. After all the homes I have bought and sold in the last 35 years I have delt with many realtors and their support staff. You are the most professional realtor I have ever met and you, with your staff, continue to set a standard that should be followed by everyone else in the business. You are all truly remarkable people.
As you may remember, I have not had the best experience with realtors in the 5 states that I have owned property. The sale of my home in ANDREWS was complicated by a realtor who should never be allowed to hold the license. As I continue to search for homes in my future I will always remember your efforts and the fact that you sold my home in 4 days when "others" could not even get me a showing in 5 months when listed.
It is unlikely that I will ever find a professional identical to yourself in this day and age. You are the best. It is a lot like looking for an honest person in politics, or an officer in my field that has the perseverance to stand a 72 hour watch at the helm without relief.
